A website might look great and be very accessible but that doesn't mean to say its usable.

The International Standards Organisation (ISO) define usability as the combination of three factors:

Effective : can members of a target audience reach their goals using the system?

Efficient : what resources (e.g. time, energy, key presses) do these users need to expend to achieve these goals?

Satisfying : do users find the system comfortable and acceptable?

As part of our design service, Redbak Design constantly monitor the usability of sites we create, as this lends itself to creating user-centred designs.

Creating a user-centred design is about structuring and designing your website so users can seamlessly flow through the site. It can lead to:

• Reduced support and training costs as the website is easier to understand and use
• Increased revenues due to improved efficiency of users, enabling them to accomplish their goal

Usability evaluation

If you feel that your site is not as usable as it could be Redbak design would be happy to complete a usability evaluation on your website.

The report will thoroughly analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the website's usability. Once this has been assessed we will provide clear methods of the way in which these can be resolved.

These findings can then be resolved in the existing site or a new website be developed to be accessible to your users as possible.
